CPS is in session during the public school calendar year, observing many of the same holidays and school workdays.  When 4J schools close because of inclement weather, CPS will do the same.  If 4J schools are delayed two hours because of inclement weather CPS classes will not be held that day.  If 4J schools are delayed one hour because of inclement weather, CPS classes will be delayed for one hour also.

 

Our schedule currently has 2 extra days built into it as compared with the 4j Elementary calendar. These days exist in our schedule as a buffer in case of weather related cancellations, or other unavoidable closures. As a result, we will not offer make-up days past June 16. If you experience a financial hardship due to weather related school closure, please contact the director, Emma Standish, to discuss options.

For extreme weather while at school, our policies align with new Oregon state mandates. If temperatures are below 20 degrees F or over 100 F, we will stay inside for recess. Also, we will use airnow.gov and purpleair.com to monitor air quality. When the local air quality index reaches 150 or more, we remain inside.
